Thursday August 29th, 2024 Tarot Reading
Greetings to you all. Today, we embark on a journey through the paths carved by the tarot. Our compass is powered by stoic philosophy. Our three guiding points for the day are Death, Six of Wands, and Two of Pentacles. Each card offers unique wisdom, let’s start unwrapping what the universe has to whisper to us through these cards.
The first card, the Death card, often inspires fear. But let us remember the words of Epictetus, the stoic philosopher who said,
“People are disturbed not by things, but by the views which they take of them.”
This card actually symbolises inevitable changes and transformation. Yes, it can mean the end of a cycle, but what follows every ending? A new beginning. It reminds us that change, though it often seems scary, cannot be avoided and is integral to the flow of life. Don’t be frightened by it, rather embrace the opportunities it carries.
Moving onto our next card, the Six of Wands. This card represents success and the respect of others. Drawing the Six of Wands signals a completion of a difficult task, resulting in public recognition and progress. However, stoicism teaches us not to get overly attached to external validation. Marcus Aurelius, the great stoic Emperor, reminds us:
“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.”
Honor your success, but don’t let it create an inflated sense of self. Stay humble and keep on striving.
Finally, we turn to the Two of Pentacles. Traditionally it signifies balance in material affairs, and adaptability in the face of change. It challenges us to manage our resources wisely. Consider Seneca’s words:
“It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.”
We are continually balancing our needs and wants, and this card reminds us to reflect on our choices. Balance isn’t a destination, it’s a daily act we all must participate in.
And so, with the wisdom of the Death, Six of Wands, and Two of Pentacles cards behind us, we face the day energized to embrace change, celebrate success with humility, and strive for balance in all that we do.
For today’s journalling prompt, let’s take a moment to reflect on how we deal with change. How does the end of one cycle make you feel? And how can you better balance your needs and wants to make way for more meaningful progress in your life? Remember, the only constant is change itself. The more comfortable we are with it, the smoother our journey.
