Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 Tarot Reading: Taking Bold Moves & Embarking on New Ventures
Hello, fellows ruminators. Today’s theme gravitates towards the idea of strategy, vision, and leadership. The tarot deck has spoken, and our guided journey begins with the Seven of Swords, progresses to the Three of Wands, and ends with the King of Wands.
For our initial card, the Seven of Swords presents itself hinting at a strategic impact. Traditionally, this card signifies stealth, strategy, and ambiguous actions. As the stoic philosopher Epictetus once said, “No man is free who is not a master of himself”. This card emphasizes mastering our strategic self, which in many cases involves taking cunning but vital decisions where the ends might justify the means.
Moreover, it encourages us to reflect on the concept of taking unconventional routes in order to achieve our goal. Often the journey to our ambitions is not a straight path but a winding road that necessitates agility, foresight and often unconventional thinking. How can you think outside of the box to achieve what you desire?
Transitioning to the second card, the Three of Wands showcases a woman overlooking the sea as her ships set sail for distant lands. This card embodies foresight, vision, and contemplating the future. Aligning with this, recall what Seneca said: “The wish for healing has always been half of health”. The Three of Wands implores you to be that wish - to imagine a future that is healed, whole, and vibrant.
Consider what ships - metaphorically speaking - you have set out into the world. What ventures have you embarked on, and how do you see them unfolding in the future? The Three of Wands recommends that you trust in your visions and embrace the anticipation for what will come.
To conclude, the King of Wands enters our narrative with poise and confidence. He reminds us of the importance of leadership, courage, and stepping into authority. This character stands for the fundamental stoic belief of ownership, as Marcus Aurelius profoundly stated, “It’s time you realized that you have something in you more powerful and miraculous than the things that affect you and make you dance like a puppet”.
The King also encourages us to be daring, to assert ourselves, and to create. He is an emblem of taking charge and of guiding not only ourselves but those around us towards fulfilling potential. What leadership role can you take on in your life today? How can you guide, not only yourself, but those around you towards a brighter future?
Embarking on this journey with the Seven of Swords, the Three of Wands, and lastly, the King of Wands, we are encouraged to strategize wisely, envision the future lucidly, and take bold steps confidently. To internalize the lessons from today’s reading, here is your journalling prompt of the day:

As always - aim for mastery, and let the journey make you. Through strategy, vision, and courage, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish.
