Wednesday, February 21st Tarot Reading: Connection, Contentment, and Conviction

Welcome back, everyone, as we delve into today’s tarot messages. Today’s theme revolves around appreciating our journey, recognising our desires, and seizing moments with conviction. With the Four of Pentacles, Nine of Cups, and Knight of Swords, let’s uncover what the universe is trying to share today.

Starting with the Four of Pentacles. The classic depiction of this card shows a man clinging tightly to his four coins, symbol of his earthly possessions. “Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.” A concept deeply rooted in Stoicism, reminding us to focus on what we have instead of yearning for more. Take a moment today to see the riches already in your life—your health, relationships, knowledge and emotions. There may be a need to loosen your grip, to share and enjoy these riches rather than hoard them.

”The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” - Socrates

Shifting our gaze to the Nine of Cups, often considered as the “Wish” card. It symbolises emotional fulfilment and contentment, truly a beautiful card to appear in our reading. Indeed, the journey towards happiness often entails acknowledging our emotions and yearnings. The stoic philosopher Seneca advises us “Not to assume that colors of real things are identical to those we experience”. Similarly, your emotional landscape is unique, abstract, and ever-changing. Embrace it without judgment, and make space for your wishes and desires in the grand tapestry of your existence.

”We suffer more often in imagination than reality.” - Seneca

Lastly, the Knight of Swords charges into our reading, brimming with conviction, determination, and intellectual vigor. This card is not one for procrastination or hesitation; it urges action and rapid progress. As Marcus Aurelius put it, “The obstacle is the way.” The Knight of Swords asks you to become that ‘obstacle’, to act decisively and courageously in the pursuit of your objectives. Remember that thought without action is futile, as it remains a mere thought.

”Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.” - Marcus Aurelius

In ascending order of these cards, there is a message of going from rigid control to beautiful emotional awareness and finally through decisive action. The valuable lesson contained within is that through recognizing our riches, embracing our emotions, and acting upon our convictions, we cultivate inner strength and wisdom.

To help solidify today’s insights, I invite you to journal on the prompt: Reflect on an area of your life where you may be holding on too tightly. What is one tangible step you can take to loosen your grip and trust in the fluidity of life?

Until next time, may your day be filled with enlightening revelations and inspiring action.
