Title: “Embrace the Golden Touch: Your Daily Tarot for December 23, 2023”
Greetings to my fellow seekers of wisdom!
Our theme for today’s tarot reading draws its inspiration from the chilly tension of winter’s grip, in this season often marked by financial concerns and aspirations. Let’s start unraveling what our elegant trio of pentacles - Four of Pentacles, Five of Pentacles, and Nine of Pentacles - has to unfold.
Our reading commences with the Four of Pentacles, a card symbolizing possession and control. You have pursued caution and security with your resources. Yet, are you clutching too tightly to the material? Are there areas of your life where you’re permitting your fear of losing what you have to hinder your chance at a brighter tomorrow? Marcus Aurelius mused, “Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature’s delight.” Perhaps it’s time to reevaluate your security and ponder whether such cautiousness is prohibiting positive change.
Transitioning to the Five of Pentacles, we find a scene of hardship and uncertainty. Seemingly trapped in this icy landscape, this card urges you to become aware of the self-imposed limitations blocking you from seeking help. Epictetus advised that, “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” Even if you find yourself in the throes of adversity, stoicism reminds us that our outlook greatly influences our trajectory.
Lastly, the Nine of Pentacles awaits with a message of luxurious solitude and abundance. It exemplifies the fruit that diligence, patience, and wise investments can bear — the future that awaits beyond current adversities. Seneca’s wisdom rings true here: “True happiness is… to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.” Look forward to enjoying the fruits of your labour, but do not forget the value of your present journey.
Our pentacle-focused reading today navigated the delicate rope between caution and contentment, restriction and relief, scarcity and abundance. But remember, none of these contrasts are permanent, unless we allow them to be.
Journal Prompt: Write about a current fear or restraint that’s keeping you from enlarging your horizon. How can you take steps today to see it from a new perspective or better yet, overcome it? What small investment can you make in yourself or your future tomorrow, that allows you to embrace the present voyage now?
May the wisdom of the stoics guide you today and every day henceforth.
Remember: “He who fears he will suffer, already suffers because of his fear.” - Michel de Montaigne. Shed that fear and embrace the present.
Until our paths cross again, remember to stay curious, stay reflective.
